Anyone know where I can get a plantable tree? Seems like it might be a good idea since we have no trees on our property yet :p
    TIA

Check out the johnstonnc.com website. You can purchase bundles of hardwood seedlings, and they are very inexpesive. The bundles cost $8, and you get 10 to 25 seedlings in a bundle. I plan to get some red maples, because I've heard that they grow fast.

FYI: To me the most Christmas tree-Looking live trees are Fraser Firs; but they do not grow well (Or even live very long) in our area. It's just too HOT here in the summer. If you go plant a bundle tree, chose the NORTH facing side of your home, they need the cooler side and water - water - water.

Here is a website with diferent Christmas Trees and info:

Are you looking for something that will serve as a Christmas tree and than can be planted outside after? I went to Lowe's this morning, and noticed they have dwarf Alberta spruce in pots, about 2 1/2 to maybe close to 3 ft tall, not counting the pot, for ~ $46. This will not get over 6-8' tall. I wouldn't keep it in the house over a few days if you want it to live after you put it back outside, and keep it well watered.

Thank you all! I was looking for a Christmas tree that I could have in the house and then plant outside. I think it is more work than it's worth BUT, Snuff-That's a great deal and we are certainly going to get something from them!!

Oops, misunderstood what you were talking about. Duh, it's Christmas time!  :?

Anyway, I'm glad that info was helpful. I was quite impressed with their prices, too. Even I can afford to plant trees. :)
