I would like to know if anyone knows when the football try outs usualy are over the summer. Is it July? My son wants to try out but he might be away, so I need to try to plan, I guess I could call up tp the school today and ask.

August, probably. I know Cleveland is the week before school starts.

I'll copy this from the handout my son brought home:

    Tryouts:
    August 18 4-6 PM
    August 19 4-6 PM
    August 20 4-6 PM (Helmets)
    August 21 4-6 PM (Helmets)

1st round of cuts will be posted on the gym door August 22.

August 25 is the first day of school and practice begins immediately after school and goes until 6:00

    Requirements to try out:

A physical less than 1 year old
76.5 average for the 4th quarter
Not turn 15 until October 16

My son played last year as a 7th grader - he didn't get much playing time, but he still enjoyed it.

Thank you for that info. I did not get that flyer. The last few weeks of school I did not get anything, I think everything he received from school went into the trash, he was so ready to get out! My son will be in 7th grade next year, he really wants to try out. I know and he knows he will not get much playing time, I am okay with that. He usually plays soccer and has since he was 3. But he really seems to be into football now....Thank you again!!

Yikes. That is a pretty low standard IMO.

I was just asking my son how one individual I know stayed on the team last year....Now I know.....that never would have happened when I was going through school. You had to have a "C" average or higher!
