I'm pretty new to the area - I need to know where is the best place to park your car for Clayton's Dec 9th Christmas Parade in downtown area? What time should I get there? I believe it starts around 2 pm. I heard it's going to be much bigger this year.

It actually starts at 3pm. My group at the HS is in it, but we haven't heard anything from the town as to where to park, number in line, etc. ugh!

I can't remember if it was '04 or '03, but that particular year in mind was a pretty large one for Clayton. I felt like I was watching the Raleigh parade with entry after entry after entry. Last year, seemed a bit ho-hum, but one thing is it seems almost all the area towns want to have their parades the same day. Probably hurts the numbers of entries they have when they do that.

Because of the lay-out and the parade location, its quite hard to find parking (legally) close up to minimize walking distance or the need for a shuttle.

Thanks, I will try to get there earlier and find a parking space, hopefully not getting my car being towed! :)
