I think I just saw this same question posted a couple days ago. Do a search and I'm sure you'll find the answer! (not trying to be rude here)

I don't remember their name, but I wanted to let you know about our experience the one time we went there....you should obvisouly make your own assumptions, but this is just my opinion.

My husband called them one day to ask about getting our king size comforter dry cleaned. They said it would be ready the same day if we dropped it off in the morning. So, he went in the next morning to drop it off on a Tuesday and they said that it would be ready by Friday - NOT the same day. So, he just dropped it off. They quoted him $35.00 I beleive and gave him a slip of paper saying that.

We forgot to pick up the comforter Friday so i went by there Saturday afternoon. The comforter was not there. The lady called the main store (I am not sure where that is) and put me on the phone with the manager. She told me that because we had so much dog hair on it (our boxer sleeps with us! haha) they had to do a different special treatment and that we would have to pay more money when we picked it up!! I told them that wasn't acceptable because no one called us prior to them doing this different treatment to make sure we were ok paying more money - they just did it. After she sensed my frustration she told me that she would charge us the original amount this time but the comforter still would not be ready for several more days. No one called us about the time difference (when they originally told us it could be the same day) and they were going to charge us more money for a service we didn't even authorize them to do.

I am sure they are a decent place, I just didn't have a great experience.

    Good luck!

    (919) 550-6740 call Lowe's Foods and they will give you the name so that you can look up the telephone number. The cleaners at Lowe's shopping strip is a drop off and pick up store. All items are taken to the owner's place in Clayton on Second Street, near the Coffee Mill. Comforters take at least 24 hours to clean and dry.

    Good luck,
    Sherry

Well, Georgiared, I must be blonde too then, cause I can't find it either! I just went through both sides here. I know I remember seeing it, within a month or two, and now it's not there! I don't know why it would have been pulled, I don't think there was anything bad on it...Sorry about that, thought I was being helpful!

Sherry, I think they're talking about the new Lowe's Foods at 50 & 42, not the one on 70 in Clayton.

Yes, I reread this just now and noticed it was not the area that I thought. I keep making that stupid mistake. :banghead:

If you use them...bring a lot of coin and a nose clip....the prices stink and so does the store. I didn't hang around long enough to identify the source of the funk....probably chemicals or dirty clothes......nasty.

  16. I've a had a good experience with the cleaners right behind McDonald's off Hwy 42. I can't think of the name. It's right next to a Mexican restaurant I think.

Funny thing is, I was shopping at Lowe's Food yesterday and I saw a brand new big Ford Van drop off tons of finished product. I thought to myself, They do not clean their clothes here, they must ship them out elsewhere and then get them back,,,, which could explain why your clothes are not ready when asked because they don't know squat about cleaning because they are just a pick up and drop off place? I wonder where they send all the clothes out to be cleaned? I wouldn't go there. Go to Mike's up behind McDonald's at the 40/42.

HG, we have an indoor dog and have to get ours cleaned regularly. I always use Brothers Cleaners in Raleigh-that might be too far for you but they are always timely, reasonable and do a great job with getting hair out of ours. I use the one on Atlantic Ave. but there are several.

The cleaners at 42/50 gave me a price for some alterations for $35. They did call me luckly and told me they told me wrong that they would be $60. I could not believe what they told me......I went within 15 minutes and picked -up my clothes and found someone else to do them for $25. I can't believe they were going to charge that much more. Like others said it was going to take 6 days as well.
