SMITHFIELD-- Dr. Anthony Parker hosted 47 ministers and clergy
representatives from throughout Johnston County Monday, May 15th for an
end-of-year breakfast meeting to thank them for their support and update
them on new and on-going programs in the system.
The Superintendent initiated quarterly clergy meetings last year to
develop a collaborative relationship on behalf of the county's students
and invite increased volunteerism from churches.
The agenda included an update on the Hand-in-Hand volunteer program,
the High Five high school reform program, a sharing session among the
clergy in attendance, and a question-and-answer period.
