    Indians Win in Season Opener

The first game of the year brought about the expected higher number of errors and a slower moving game, but in the end the Indians emerged victorious. The Indians scored two in the 5th inning on a double steal by Mark Bogle and Carl Whittington, to tie the score at 4, but the Blacksox added one in the bottom of the inning to go ahead 5-4. In the 7th, Bogle of the Indians scored one on a sac fly by Allen Williford, to tie it up. Then, with two outs in the top of the 8 th, the Indians scored four runs making the score 9-5. The Blacksox ran out of time as the game reached the 3 hour time limit, ending the game in the 8th .

The Indians battled behind their starting pitcher Tim Langdon through the first 5 innings, to be relieved by Carl Whittington, who got the win.

Indians Win Second in a Row
Behind the stellar pitching of Mike McCreery and Mark Bogle, the Indians emerged victorious. The Tribe woke up the bats and found the holes in the Mariners defense, hitting the ball everywhere they weren't. The defense played well, with only one inning of fielding miscues. The Wahoo’s take to the road again, heading to Durham to face off against the Astros this coming Sunday, 5/6 @ 4pm.

    Results from May 6th

The Indians suffered there first lose of the season on a windy Sunday in Durham. The Tribe was ahead 5-4 in the bottom of the eighth, but poor defense by the Indians and clutch hitting by the Astros put the Indians down by two going into the 9th. Cleveland put one run up in the last frame but it was not enough to catch the Astros. Final Score 7-6.

    Results from May 12th

For the second week in a row, the Tribe had the tying run on base with one out in their final inning bat, but was unable to score.

The Indians traveled through the rain up to sunny Mebane NC, to battle the Giants of Alamance County in an early morning Saturday showdown. Maybe the Indians should have done a rain dance in Mebane, because after evening up the score at 2-2 by a couple of single off the bats of Allen Williford and Jay Biesenthal, a hit batsman and a pair of walks, the Giants put 4 more runs on the board and kept the war drums relatively quiet. The Indians scored one in the 8th, after Jay Biesenthal lead off with a double and Jamie Lee knocked him in with a single. The Tribe threatened again in the 9th, but a double play end all hopes.

The Indians head to the Reservation for the first time this season to play against the Mariners of Cary. Game time is 7PM Friday June 1.

    Indians Survive the Orioles

The Indians held on to beat the Orioles 6-4 behind the stellar pitching of starter Tim Langdon and Mike McCreery in relief. The Tribe scored three runs in the third off of hits from McCreery, Jamie Lee, Carl Whittington, and Mark Bogle. Langdon carried a no-hitter into the 5th, until a lead off double eventually scored to make the score 3-1. In the sixth inning the Indians scored a couple more to make their lead 5-1. The O’s battled back in the top half of the 8th to bring the score to 5-4, but the 4 back to back hits by Jay Biesenthal, Whittington, Bogle, and the Langdon gave the Tribe the insurance run that they would eventually need. The top of the order was due up for the Orioles in the 9th, but the relief performance by McCreery and the diving catch by Matt Williams, held them to only one run, ending the game with the score 6-5.
