Overnight Warming Station First Baptist Church Ministry Center January 7, 2014 Smithfield, NC – Due to the extreme cold weather, the First Baptist Church of Smithfield is opening their Ministry Center located at 125 South Fourth Street, tonight to serve as a warming station for people without heat or shelter. The Center will open at 7:00pm tonight and will be staffed by representatives from the First Baptist Church, American Red Cross, Johnston County Departments of Social Services and Public Health and the Smithfield Police Department. Anyone seeking refuge from the extreme cold temperatures should arrive between the hours of 7:00pm – 9:00pm and enter the Ministry Center at the rear entrance located off of Fifth Street.
