For any history buffs out there, the Sixth NC State Troops, a local Civil War reenacting group, will set up it's annual Confederate Christmas at the Capitol this Saturday from 10 to 4. The living history will consist of Civil War Confederate camp life, company drills and other demonstrations throughout the day. There may also be a "stick" musket drill for the visiting children, led by one of the company NCOs. The Capitol is also scheduled to have Christmas displays and programs throughout the day. It shouldn't be too cold Saturday, but there'll be a campfire to keep warm by.

Could you please give us the direction on how to get there? I'm coming from Clayton's Food Lion area. Thanks! :)

Probably the easiest way would be to take New Bern Avenue off the Beltline and head into downtown. You can't miss the Capitol. :D

Or just stay on 70 towards Raleigh and bear right on Wilmington St., just past Dunkin' Donuts. You might want to park in Moore Sq parking deck ($) and walk up to the capitol. Good luck finding a place to park on the street.

Awe man, that looks awesome - but it is going to coincide with my plans at the Clayton Parade!
