Walmart has watermelons for $1.50 each in Clayton. We got sucked in and bought two. Both were horrid. Might not be all of them, just an FYI Yes, I know I should of known...but it was a good deal...too good to be true apparently.
We got one yesterday. The greeter was telling everyone they had watermellons for $1.50. When it was scanned it was $4.95. I had to call this to the cashiers attention. I bet they got $4.95 from a lot of customers. We better cut ours to see if it is good. If no good the $1.50 is not such a good bargain! LOL
Not to get off the subject of watermelons but last night when I went, I picked up a package of shredded walmart brand chedder cheese. Normally the package is $1.98. Yesterday it was $2.68, which was even more than the Borden brand. I asked the cashier if the price had gone up or was it mismarked - she didn't know (which actually didn't shock me) but she told me that the woman before me got a deal on watermelon. Last week when I went, I picked up a pound of bologna from the deli - cost me $7.19 - yes, I did take it back after I noticed it and got the difference. I normally notice things like that but got distracked. I may have to pass on the deal for the watermelon if I see it. I'll probably pay the $5.00 to the local farmer for the seedless watermelon.
Are they the regular ones or the smaller ones....I just brought the small one yesterday in Smithfield and I forgot how much I paid for but haven't cut into mine yet. I guess I will be doing that this evening to see how it taste.
