Johnston County has contracted with Yotta/MVS to take digital photographs of all improvements to property in the county. The digital photographs will be taken from a camera equipped mobile van from the public right of way. The photos will be used for the 2011 county wide revaluation and for any appeals of value heard by the Johnston County Board of Equalization and Review.

No one will ask to see the inside of any citizen’s home while the photos are being taken. County appraisers and employees of the revaluation firm will be in the vans reviewing tax information as the photos are taken. Further field visits will be made as the 2011 revaluation project progresses.

Yotta/MVS, whose home office is located in Kansas City, Missouri, provided similar photographs to the county prior to the 2003 property revaluation. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of April 2009.
Questions may be directed to the Johnston County Tax Office at 919-989-5130.

My only question. Can't we find someone local to take the photos or at least from our own state?

At least it wasn't outsourced to India or China.

I have actually heard of a fast food company that outsourced the Drive Through employee!

P.S. I am being outsourced to Missouri for 5 days this month to do a job someone from that state might be able to do, so it all kind of balances out.

Will the houses be published on the JC appraiser website like in Wake County?
