i knew things would change when Rachel sold it but was really shocked when i went by there yesterday after work to pick up my bi-weekly supply of bird food for 3 parrots and ferret food. They have changed their hours to closing at 6pm:confused: Do they want to stay in business, are they aware that there is a big percentage of their patrons that work in Raleigh and Durham and sorry but very rarely get home in time to shop before 6pm? Maybe i am wrong but they seem to be catering to children more so and while that is wonderful, is it gonna keep them in business? Usually and notice i did not say always, most folks that own exotic animals are not the same ones that have small children still at home and the ones with the small children, while they would enjoy being able to pet and play with the animals, their parents are not gonna be spending lots of money in there i would think.

i just do not get why a business in our neck of the woods would want to close before folks get home from work:confused:

Guess i am gonna have to find a new pet shop to frequent for my zoo:cry:

Its not exactly on the way home, but Carolina Pet Supply in Garner is good. We get our feeder mice/rats for the snakes from there (and they're less expensive than Critter Country)

I tried to go in that place one time and the smell of pet urine knocked me right back out the door.

Yep, that is what i was thinking, will just have to take a detour through Garner on the way home or might even check out Petco up here at 540.

I wouldn't waste the money to go to Petco, everything I've looked at there is cheaper at Petsmart.

Pretty much my feelings on Restaurants, now if you went in at 5:58 would you expect them to complete the sale?

No i wouldn't go in there at 5:58, notice i am looking for somewhere else to go:lol::lol:

She should, she knows exactly what she is getting and can be in and out in a minute, thus 5:59 and maybe 30 seconds to spare.

i don't know, probably for cats but Petsmart really does not have a great selection for bird food and the couple times i have been to Petco their bird food and accessories section was better priced than Petsmart. i guess it depends on the animal you are shopping for:)

Yep, depends on the critter. Their selection (Petco) is better for the turtle than anywhere else we've looked. Haven't checked on puppy or cat stuff though.

I don't like Petco for the kitty stuff.

Hmmm. Maybe Cleo needs to get a job as a personal assistant. ;)

Girl, i would love to have someone to do my grocery shopping and errand running for me, it is so hard to find the time these days but gotta talk DH into spending the money to have someone come clean first - have a hard time finding time for that too:lol:

I had my poodle groomed there not too long ago. She looks ok, but not as good as the last time she was groomed. There were and still are, a few long spots on her that just don't seem to blend in. Keri use to groom her all the time, but now that she is closed, I started going here and was pretty pleased until this time. Don't know what happened. But I don't know a lot of dog grooming places and usually don't have a lot of time to drive all over to pick her up, but may have to look.

If you had it done under the new owners and don't like it, Rachel, the previous owner has a mobile grooming service now. I don't have her info at hand, but she does post on here.

    (I think she is Rcskip).

Really???? If you find the info, please send it to me. And no, I was not happy. It cost $40. I don't even spend that on hair cuts, of course I usually cut my own, but still, that is a lot of money to pay and not be happy about it. Didn't really see it until after my pup had gotten home.

    Critter County Sold

When was Critter Country sold? I just started going there in the last month or so. Buy my crickets there for the frogs and bought the sweetest canary. I noticed the man that worked there wasn't around and I did read some things on here that he'd written. Seems he was layed off and unhappy about it. One of the young girls working there actually helped us pick out our canary and I think she made a very wise choice. You're right about the smell though. Bad.
We waited months and months to buy one from PetSmart but they were under quaranteen(?) so finally bought one from PetDepot in Knightdale. That one suddenly died within a month. I hope the one from Critter Country stays with us for years.

That is where I go to get my bird food, and I just love the owners! They are great. Yes it's out of the way but I make sure that I have other things I have to get in the area when I go.
