Woohoo, got some great news. Critter Country is back, Rachel is involved again along with Todd who is buying it (Todd was there back in the day). Rachel has told me a lot of the old people we know who took care of our 4legged babies are back too and they are bringing back the stuff they carried before and changing the hours to back like they were. They will be carrying birds again and it will feel like a real pet shop again. i am so excited, it has been a pain having to ride to Garner or go somewhere in Cary to get my bird, ferret, dog, and fish stuff and Rachel is one person i trust taking care of clipping my birds and grooming my dog:hurray::hurray::hurray: This is not an advertisement so don't anyone jump down my throat. There have been quite a few threads about the disappointment in our local pet shop after Rachel, the original owner left and i just want to put the word out there that it is back and i cannot wait to head up there in the next day or so. From what i understand they are already up and running after being closed for a week or so. Oh yeah, new phone number too: 919-662-7541

I ran in the other day and it was so clean and smelled so much better! I was amazed how far he has come in such a short time. He told me he placed some orders, so I am excited to see what he will have on the shelves.

DS is interested in getting a snake. I told him we would go look at one together. Since it was rainy earlier in the week, I thought that would be a good trip to go to Critter Country.

Todd was so nice to us! Although I don't ever see me getting a snake in this house, I may get one for my classroom simply because of Todd. He is a middle school science teacher, and really, really knows his stuff. (Teachers, he also gives a teacher discount he told me).

He let my son hold a corn snake. I held it, too. The snacks were all the same age, and getting ready to shed, so they were not really wanting to be held, but they did tolerate us.

    It's certainly a business I'd support if/when I'm in the market for a reptile.

I always thought the prices were high no matter who ran the shop, I have to see if things have changed any.
I don't mind going to garner to get what I need if I have other things to do in the area, it's worth it to me to save a buck or two at Carolina Pet supply.

I was in there yesterday. The folks there were very nice & helpful. I actually walked in with the intent of teasing my son ... hoping to provide him with some incentive to keep his room clean ... but not actually intending to purchase anything yet. My son's been wanting a rat or a bearded dragon for a while. I've been told many times that rats make wonderful pets ... but I don't know that I really wanted one in the house. In anycase, I liked the prices so much that I ended up leaving the store with a really cool 2-year old bearded dragon ... and the crickets to feed him (ewwww!!!). Todd and the other guy working in there were super helpful and printed out information on how to care for the beardy and really took their time in explaining everything to us. They were super.

    Todds great!

    :allears:
Todd is a great guy! He's slowly getting the store back to the way it was. He's on a small budget so its going to take some time. He is gonna bring the fish back, just waiting on some supplies to come in but hopes to have it fully stocked in the next 4 months. He did mention that he wasnt able to keep the old number so help spread the new number around. 919-662-7541 he also has an email account ccpetshop@earthlink.net. Everyone needs to drop in and see him. We really need to help support the local business! oh, if you dont see something you need he will special order items, thats what he did for me!:)
