These guys are recreating Edsel Fords cross country trip he took in 1915. Traveling from Detroit to San Francisco. Interesting to follow their journey.

My great uncle told me the story of the first car he ever saw. It was a Model T and it was stuck in a mud puddle in the mountains where he lived. He pulled it out with a team of horses for the woman driving it. She had driven it from Washington DC and told him for pulling it out she would sell him the car for $50.00 and a ride to the train station. My uncle gathered up $50.00 from his bothers and father, paid her and took her to the train station to buy a ticket home. I am not sure of the year this happened or what finally became of that car, but my grandmother (his sister) only had two cars from 1950 until she died in the early 1980s, a 1950 Chevy Bel Air and a 1966 Chevy Bel Air. Both drove over the same road that first Model T did, which was a wagon trail prior to that, and a buffalo track before that.
