The last time I filled up I paid $1.79 in Fuquay. It's about time for me to fill up again. What's the best price y'all have seen lately, and where? Someone on another forum reported, complete with pics, filling up for less than $22 at $1.21/gal in Colorado on 11/30! :banghead:
I don't know why, but when Lowes Foods first opened, they were the most expensive. Now, believe it or not, they're the cheapest at 1.72. They're even cheaper than the Kangaroo on 70/Raynor, which is always the cheapest (where I drive anyway), which is at 1.74. These were the prices this morning, no telling what they'll be tomorrow of course. I've been watching the LF gas station, they seem to stay for about 3 or 4 days, then drop about 4 cents. So we're due to see a drop tomorrow by my calculations!
Not sure what gasoline station you are talking about if it is the Lowe's Foods on 70. Could it be the Crown station? The Trade Mart on 42 East near 70 was at $1.74 yesterday. Sherry
Here is a website that i have found helpful, for local prices and for trips. http://www.raleighgasprices.com/ hope this is helpful to others too.
A few months ago I passed by this old gas station that had long been out of business. It still had 1.87/gal. posted for regular and I thought, "those were the days" and now lo and behold gas is cheaper than it was then. Of course, I'm sure we'll at least be back up to $2.50 probably soon enough.
Did you guys know that if you shop at Lowe's Foods and use your greenpoints card that you accumulate points that allow you to save from .05 to .15 per gallon at the fuel center? I had accumulated enough for .10/gallon off and I was able to get gas for $1.62 this weekend. Cost us less than $20 to fill up the SUV. :hurray:
I can save .05, and tried it for the first time the other day, but it wouldn't work! And those cents expire too, mine are good through the 11th, so I have to hurry! And yes, Sherry, I mean the new Lowes Foods at 50/42, sorry. The other Lowes in Garner on Timber is always running the same price by the way, if anyone's ever over there.
Kell cleared it up for me in an earlier Post. Since we live on the other side of 42 I always think about this area. Anyhow, inexpensive gasoline is wonderful! Sherry
I was in Lillington night and got gas for $1.42. The cashier at the station said that by Feb gas should be under $1 per gallon and the reason is they have found a new resource that they didn't know was there and that is what is driving gas down. Has anyone else heard that?
I highly doubt she is correct, or it would be on the news by now. What I heard on the news was that all that 'investing' in the oil markets/stocks are now down - so that is why the price has dropped. Its just crazy! This whole economy scares me - how bad is it going to get............:?
