If he didn't have any, then they should have found some that they could have used.
Perhaps a weird case of some kind of PTSD? They said on one of the news channels that he is a veteran of Iraq or Afghanistan war (can't remember which) so I reserve judgement...I feel really badly for him if it is some kind of reaction/hallucination etc from his war experience, that has gone untreated.
