Smithfield, NC --- The Johnston County Department of Social Services phone and computer systems has experienced a fiber optic outage. The anticipated repair of the line is expected to be completed by late Wednesday afternoon. Reports of child abuse and/or neglect should be reported in the interim to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office by calling 911. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause our citizens but staff is working diligently to have this issue corrected as quickly as possible.
