NORTH BABYLON, N.Y. — Three teenagers who beat another girl while being videotaped turned the camera on themselves to brag about the incident before posting the video online, police said. The teenagers were arrested Tuesday on charges of juvenile delinquency and attempted assault. The video was shown on two Web sites, YouTube and MySpace, which are popular with children. In the video, screaming can be heard as a 13-year-old girl cowers on the ground while others punch her and kick her repeatedly in the head. At one point, she is dragged along the ground by her hair. The beaten girl was not hospitalized and did not tell her parents, police said. Authorities' delay in learning about the incident prevented the filing of harsher charges of assault, said Suffolk County police Lt. Robert Edwards. "By the time we became aware of it, any apparent physical injuries that she had received were really not apparent to us," he said. Police said the beating, which occurred December 18 at around 4 p.m. at a school, apparently was stopped after an adult intervened. "Some unknown good Samaritan pulled up in his car," Edwards said. "You can see the car door open and they scatter." The names of the accused girls were not released by police because they were being charged as juveniles. Two of the girls are 14, and one is 13. Police were investigating who taped the incident
