I have had neighbors dog coming in my yard for some time now and I have tolerated it, but i just got a new baby puppy and today that dog came flying into my yard when i was out there with the puppy. So i got fed up and called animal control. The officer came and got the dog and i told him where the owner lived. In which i took the dog over there numerous times and I live on busy road. the officer went to his house and told him that he was taking the dog and that he would have to come to smithfield and pay 50 dollars to get the dog out. well the owner got enraged and took off down the road, i'm kinda worried that this guy will come and try to hurt my doggies that are properly penned up in my yard. what do yall think?
I'd keep my puppies real close........ i wouldn't trust anyone who is that irresponsible to let the dog run all over on purpose. I have an annoyance with the neighbors dog getting out but it is not on purpose so I would not call. Since you were in your properly fenced in yard were you afraid the neighbors dog was going to jump the fence and hurt the puppy? i don't like aggressive dogs either
well, puppy stays inside for now. but i have 2 other dogs penned up outside. i was walking the puppy in the yard when this happened. i think the guy purposly lets the dog out.
I thought the law was if you have a pet the leash law came into play. But I think there is a minimum weight for the animal...I can't remember. Sorry brain fart. You did the right thing.
Actually, the "leash law" in Johnston county is that the pet must be under control. For instance, a bird dog can be 50 yards off-lead as long as they're under the control of their owner/trainer, etc. Frogger
