I am supporting John McCain, but I really don't want this story to be true. The thought that a U.S. Senator, much less candidate for president, would do this leaves me pretty much speechless. And that is saying something. http://www.nypost.com/seven/0915200...tried_to_stall_gis_iraq_withdrawal_129150.htm
Just to be fair (and balanced?), the New York Post is a conservatively biased news outlet. I'm not saying the information is true or not, you just might want to consider the source.
Since this just came out today and is only posted in the NY Post, I'll wait until after we find out if it is true. If it is true, then the only change Obama is worried about is the Presidential seat change from Bush to himself. Again, if proven true then that's just despicable and I hope America and all the military families vote accordingly.
I see it as him wanting to take credit for it when they *do* get pulled out. Why else would he request that it be put off until after the election, when the "state of weakness and political confusion" is over with. If it IS true....
Me too girl, instead of worring about the troops/families/American people it seems he was more worried about himself and making sure he would get credit for it.
Other side of what? I have no idea if it is true, from the story I read in the post it did not sound all that official if it even occurred. Grinder, I tend to back my responses up with non-partisan sources, can you show me otherwise.
Wasnt saying otherwise. Was saying that no matter what is said on here about politics, you have the other side.
That's not entirely true. For example, if I said the Mr. Clinton was the best president we've ever had, Hught and SherryA will agree with that statement. It's called being partisan, not just being obtuse.
That was a nice story. But until you can give me proof, forget about it. This is a presidential election. There are so many lies floating around that it's hard to know what to believe. So i refuse to believe anything until I have some sort of proof.
Well I have stated a few times in the past that I have agreed with the Bush administration (typically when you went into your "You disagree with Bush on everything rants"). I remember agreeing with him on his old Immigration stance and I also thought he attempted to do a good thing with the AIDs funding for Africa. Was Clinton the greatest President, No, IMHO he was the best of those I have personal knowledge of (Nixon through the present day.
Boy I am sure happy you don't call others names (wait, I realize you will just follow-up and say you didn't call me a name, but you did call me a word). I said it was my Opinion, I am sure you will say it was Reagen for you (given the same time frame), if it was do I get to call you names/words.
Hey, I was agreeing with you. I tried to explain that you were simply defending your parisanship and you corrected me.
This is apparently an Associated Press generated story that dates back to July when Obama visited Iraq: http://www.newsday.com/news/politics/ny-uscamp045751566jul04,0,6652496.story
OK, because I picked a Democrat you automatically assumed I was partisan. I am not strictly partisan, I voted for a Republican during the last election (I do regret that now, based on his actions in office) and when I first came to NC I registered as a Republican. I also voted for Gerald Ford. But I realize that I have to fit your Stereotype. By the way who was your favorite President of the last 30 years? Was it a Republican? Then we can use your logic and call you a Partisan or obtuse.
