    From the classifieds:
This is a Sensormatic Retail Security Deactivator. It is the thing that retail stores like Wal-Mart and K-Mart have to demagnetize the sensors on their items to prevent theft. It measures approximately 13 1/2 inches by 13 1/2 inches. These sell for a lot of money if you have to buy them new and are not sold to just anyone. If interested i will accept best offer or trade for something you have for sale.

Now just what would one LEGALLY do with something like this???

How about a vender at the flea market? Some of those venders have some exspensive things and if that is their only income, then ,,,,well?

My guess is demagnetize sensors, you could have a legitimate business and find a need to purchase/trade for one.
