Title for a home made trailer Go to your local licence plate agency and get an appiclation for a title. I think the cost is $5.00 but may have been changed since I got my last one! It will have the instructions printed on it. It will have a assigned number that you will have to have stamped on the tongue and Axle in the area that will be described. The appiclation will also be your permission to pull your trailer to the nearst DMV or Highway Patrol Office to get it inspected by a Highway Patrol or DMV officer. Once it is inspected and signed by the officer, take the appiclation back to the licence agency and apply for the title and get your tags. Title fee is $40.00 and license fee is $19.00.
