Does this place still exist?

There use to be a really good Chinese restaurant that was on the corner between 70 and East Main Street in Clayton. The building is still there but it is now a Mexican restaurant next to the Don Betos. I think it disappeared around 2008/9ish? Does anyone remember the old Chinese place and if it is still open in another location? I loved their food! The Emperors Choice which I was told was the best is just lacking compared to it.

    Thanks.

Nope, gone from there for good I think. There just aren't any decent Chinese restaurants in Clayton. Or Raleigh. :ack:

That was Golden House, the first Chinese restaurant in Clayton, and it was owned and operated by Johnny Chang. Not sure when he sold the business, but he passed away several years ago. He was a nice man and yes, it was a very good restaurant. Never had a bad meal there.

Sorry to hear of the operator's passing. Thanks for the replies.
