I don't feel this is how the stimulus funds shoud be spent. Why not instead have a program like this for adults who have families to support????????? http://johnston.mync.com/site/Johnston/news/story/33992/johnston-businesses-can-get-free-labor-this-summer/
Great idea but not possible for us. We would have to take off work just to open to supervise them. Too costly an offer.
I know about this program and it is a good thing for the youth of Jo. Co. and can benefit the local businesses as well. Maybe an office could use one clerical person to do data entry or reception, where as a restuarant could use a dishwasher, hostess and a server, maybe a landscaper could use a grounds maintenance person and a daycare could use a teacher assistant. These youth can work just like anyone else, and as far as supervision, most businesses have a supervisor to supervise all their employees. It is up to the business to let them know what position they could use help for.
