OK, Had this thought the other day while feeding the dogs. Why cant there be a people food like dog food? You know, like a bag of people food nibblets that contain all the needed vitamins, etc that a human body needs. Something I can just sit down and have a bowl of and not have to think, (whats for dinner). Best thing I can think of is like a brunswick stew.
But what fun would that be? Half the fun of eating is having different tastes and textures..... otherwise, I guess you could just take some multiple vitamins and call it good.
Actually, it already exists. Fortified vitamins, made with grains and contains proteins. Add milk to it if you wish. To me that sounds like breakfast cereals.
I dont know anything about jenny graig, but I do know much of the weight watchers/healthy choice stuff is LOADED with sodium. I dont know how much sodium is in dog food, but if you look @ the packaging, it seems to have all sorts of good for ya stuff like veggies, rice, etc. I enjoy food also, but a good percentage of the tasty stuff is bad for ya. Plus, most of the time I just wanna fill my belly and be done with it. I guess if I was loaded, I could just eat out every night and get healthy stuff. Popping vitamins is OK I guess, but then you have to add in fish oil, glucosamine, whatever the recommended thing of the week is. Cereal is pretty close to my idea, but I imagine you have to fit some fruits, veggies and meats in there someplace. Its just frustrating to try to get all the nutrients a body needs and still have time to live that life. Would be nice to just pop a handfull of nuggets, get everything you need, and still get full.
So funny. I had this thought today while I was feeding my dogs thinking about what I was going to eat for breakfast.
Food as we know it today–including fruit, vegetables, and meat–is a rare and expensive commodity. Half of the world's population survives on processed rations produced by the massive Soylent Corporation (from soy(bean) + lent(il)), including Soylent Red and Soylent Yellow, which are advertised as "high-energy vegetable concentrates". The newest product is Soylent Green - a small green wafer which is advertised as being produced from "high-energy plankton". It is much more nutritious and palatable than the red and yellow varieties, but it is -- like most other food -- in short supply, which often leads to riots.
hety - here's a cold hard fact - send it to some of those improverished countries that do not take care of their own people. i would eat purina rather then starve. Crunchy too!
Been watching the Sci-fi channel lately? Are you a senior citizen? Interested in a relaxing a peaceful vacation?
Shoot, just add some salsa and you've got your veggies. Come to think of it - probably Nachos (with meat) probably comes the closest to the perfect meal..
