http://www.wral.com/news/state/story/8220471/ My dog is cleaner and more well behaved than some people I sit beside at restaurants.:lol:
i don't want to post this...but i do...but i don't...but i do...but i really don't...but i have to. what about people with allergies? i guess they get to eat indoors or go to another restaurant...oh, unless a pet shows up in the middle of their meal then they're screwed.
You got a point but as a dog owner myself I have to admit that I'm glad it's finally allowed in "some" establishments. As I said before,in Germany you can take your dog inside as well, never heard of anyone there having to leave because of being allergic.
I feel your pain girl! I guess we are lucky we don't have allergies or we wouldn't have a dog in the first place. I'll let you know when and where I'll be with Buddy butt. :grouphug:
Well i know CDH already was allowing pets outside as was the Clubhouse and as for allergies, if you are outside and not right there with the pet, how could it bother your allergies. i am highly allergic to cats but as long as i am outside with them and not right there with them i am ok. That is the advantage of being outside with fresh air, kinda like the smoking outside is ok.
child, i am reading this and already sneezing. it's cats for me. and i see what you mean by outside, but most places outside are still relatively confined...with umbrellas...almost like indoors...but i could be wrong (doesn't happen often, but i could be. dogs i'm mostly ok with, allergy-wise...have one of my own. LOVE HIM. but he hangs out at the house when we eat out or go shopping. i would love to have a camera to watch what he does while we're gone. i have my theories based on what's moved when we return...but i'd like to see it in action. he has stuff to do when his people are gone. he doesn't want to be with us 24/7.
i know what ya mean, only time i have ever taken my dogs with me to the restaurant was when i had a vet visit or something along that nature. Now my birds we do take sometimes at the invitation of the restaurants cause people like seeing them & talking to them:cheers:
If anyone really values the kinship of ones feline friend... I don't think any wise or sane human to a feline would take them out to some place like that. Cats are way to easy to get spooked and take off, jerk out of a collar, skinny out of a harness not properly fitted.... and good luck getting that cat back. I don't have a problem with anyone who wants to take a friendly pup to an outside terrace to eat dinner. But, be sure its friendly (ie, not gonna bite small wandering hands when you're not looking), and clean up after its poop or wee-wee in the event of an accident. Even if a restaurant worker offers to clean it up, no one should have to clean up after someone elses dog in that situation.
I would rather have a dog next to me in a restaurant than some misbehaving little brat. My wife and I went to BWW the other day (which is a family place so I'm not opposed to kids being there), but a child was actually seated at the bar which I think is way wrong. So I can’t buy a bottle of wine before noon on Sunday, but kids are allowed to belly up to the bar? What kind of wacko made up those rules? And to top it all off the kid purposely spits on the bar. Now how disgusting is that?
Apparently the state disagrees with you. Sometimes when traveling, I would be DELIGHTED to be able to have something besides fast food, but that isn't an option if Molly is with me.
Amen to that. I get tired of going to restaurants where parents let their kids just run around or are sitting there crying. Heck I think most dogs I know are way more behaved then the kids I know.
You need better friends! I can and did take DS everywhere we went (of course, to kid friendly places, not adult venues like bars). Except for a brief period in the terrible twos when he was a bit unpredictable, so we kept him home. Kids live up to your expectatations. Generally if you expect them to behave, they do. At least mine knew the consequences if he did not.
There's many things the state and I disagree on, does not mean that they are right. The good think is I don't have to cater to those restaurants that chose to allow animals at their restaurants.
