I never usually buy anything that people sell door to door unless it's the neighborhood kids selling for their schools, etc. I wanted you to be aware of a scam going on in Garner/Clayton right now. There are people that will walk around your neighborhood door to door and claim to have the BEST cleaner in the world. They will try to clean your door, window, etc with their cleaning product. Then they will try to sell it to you at "just $49.95". They hit my mom's neighborhood Sunday and she told me about them. Today lo and behold, they were on my porch. I informed them that I had read about them on Ripoffreport.com and they insisted they weren't the same company, however the name on their purchase order he wanted me to sign and buy from was the same as on the web. Beware of anyone from the company Mrscleanpumpitoff.net. They claim they are making money to help get kids off the streets. Once they realized I had called them out, they scurried away from our neighborhood pretty quick. Just be on the look out, and you can read more about it at www.ripoffreport.com
and type in the search box: Pumpper's Trust.

The other day I was home alone and some man was at my door. I didn't let him in, I know he knows I was home, cause the TV was on in plain view, but he didn't see me, and I don't care. I wonder if this is what he was selling. It was about 10 minutes before my kids got off the bus, which made me nervous, so I made sure and kept my eyes on the road after that, but he was gone by that time.

We put up a "No Solisiting" sign in the door. It helps keep them away.

    Call Police

These are clearly "rip-off artists" at work. Most municipalities have ordinances that prohibit door-to-door and parking lot solicitations. Report them promptly to your local police!

They came through our neighborhood the other week, and it was already dark. I don't like sales people coming to my door period, especially after dark. They gave my DH the song and dance - he wanted to buy from them, I told him he was crazy! No way was I paying 40 bucks for some crappy cleaner...:banghead:

LOL!! As a matter of fact we're about sick of salesmen in general! We've been getting some est/quotes on getting vinyl windows/siding - had 3 last week and 1 last night. The &%$# guy was there for 4+ hours!!! I knew when he was pitching his company that hard, they had to be really expensive - guess what, I was right! :banghead:
