What is the atmosphere of the Draft House? Where is it? We are moving from Smithfield to Benson.

    Thanks for the welcome.

The reason why I asked is because when the Eagles doesn't play on our TV...we usually go to BWW3 to watch football. Hubby is an Eagle fan and I could care less, I just go for the heck of it. :p

Then we have the smaller side which is for non-smoking / family/friends. Come join us take a look see, you will love it!!!

    Where is Draft House located?

  8. location

cleveland draft house is located on hwy 42 on the west end of that commercial area near I-40.
example : If you are on 42 west, coming from I-40 towards the Bojangles, CVS, etc........at the stoplight next to CVS, stay on 42 through the stoplight going west and the draft house will be on your left at the next intersection (of hwy 42 and old drug store road). There's also a lawyers office on the right at the same intersection.
this is the intersection that DOT relocated slightly several months ago.

I don't remember seeing a back room there to close off for meetings. Am I remembering that correctly? We're looking and I was trying to find alternatives to GC.

    Thanks,
    Frogger

I didn't see anything like that either. The kitchen is the only back room area I saw.

Had dinner tonight. Food (salad, ribs and crab cakes) average. Service was excellent and friendly. We will go back but probably for burgers, etc. A very nice addition for the area.

my honest, open-minded opinion is-- after 4 or 5 weeks of going regularly -- it's not as good and i'm not as optimistic as i was in the beginning.
the atmosphere itself is awesome. it's a beautiful bar with plenty of room and a very laid back impression. but after you get past the newness, it doesn't get much better. the staff in the bar are all good, nice personable people. what drives me and many others crazy is the method they are forced to follow.. TAVERN STYLE. all 5 or 6 bartenders (even middle of a slow day) are told to wait on all tables and bar guests. this eliminates the most important reason most ppl go to bars-- to talk, joke and interact w/ the bartender(s). instead, you deal with "do you need anything? have you been helped? want another drink?" from all of them, every couple of minutes. and whatever you order, guaranteed they're too busy and it will be brought and dropped off and that's it. very chaotic. it's still def. a cool place, but more like a club than a bar. only fun if you come with a group of friends. service has gotten worse, especially if you're in the pool table area, primarily b/c the bartenders dont have an assigned section. so constantly you see lines form at the end of the bar, only adding to the chaos.

it disappoints me and many others greatly. we were all excited about the new 'home' only a few miles away. now, it has become just another place where we're all just another customer, instead of the quaint, laid back, social, get-a-real-beer joint we hoped for. still optimistic, but hasnt appeared to get ANY better. anyone else agree?

yep... i like to chat and joke with my bartender.. the better I get to know them the more comfortable I would feel if I just wanted to go hang out, even by myself. The few times we've gone, we've sat at the bar and had to flag the bartender down to get an initial drink or a refill. That bar is so big, that when it's busy they really need 2 steady bartenders back there. When we've ordered food at the bar, it seems as though its a hassle for the person bringing the food out of the kitchen to find who it belongs to, and then even if they ask if you need anything else (ie: side of mayo, etc...) it doesn't show up and have been forced to ask a second person.

Look how much smaller the bar at McKinleys is, yet on Fri & Sat. nights when they have a band and are busy, they've always got 2 bartenders.

Well I'll be the first to say sorry you are not getting the service you want. I work during the day on the barside and its not so crazy and we are able to laugh and joke around with customers and really get to know everyone and this is something we enjoy just as the customers. We have gained several regular customers during the day and enjoy seeing them come in and have a chance to talk with them and do our best to make their experience there a good one. I know at night it is VERY hectic but I know too that everyone is working just as hard and trying to make sure everyone has good service. As they say patience is a virtue LOL. Please come back and see us. As for the tavern service its a way to make sure that you are never without anything and in alot of ways is easier on the bartenders/servers as well. As I said I don't work at night but I can say there are alot of good bartenders and really good people who do work the nights and I know they are working there hardest for you. Take care and come back and see us again. We enjoy meeting people!
