Where I live now I have Charter Communications for my internet. I am moving in a couple of weeks and at my new house I will have the option of going with DSL with Bellsouth or high speed service with Time Warner. My service now with Charter is terrible, it is always out, I am lucky if I have high speed for half a day. I am wondering if anyone with Time Warner high speed has any problems. Just trying to decide on who to get service with. Thanks!

DSL not an option here, but we've never had trouble with our TWC internet. Download speed just now was 7836, upload 491. (we have RR turbo)

I have Time Warner for internet/phone/cable

    Complaints:

In the 8 months I've had it, I've gone without ANY service for two days between 9 and 5 pm. . .due to out
atges - not back to back - separate days. My beef with that is when I called them on my cell and waited over 30 minutes on hold - they told me that there was NO OUTAGE BOTH times and scheduled a tech to come out - causing me to re-arrange my schedule for work and then four or five hours later. . .poof it's back on with a message on my voice mail from TWarner that there was an outage and they are canceling my service call

I've had to have techs come out once to replace the surfboard thingy - modem whatchmacallit when the one I had was only two months old. . .that didn't wipe out anything but my internet. . .could plug phone in directly to the plug and it worked. ANOTHER 30+ minutes on hold

One of my DVR's went kaput and I had to bring it to them to exchange it.

AND my bill is higher now that the initial 6 month package is finished.

IF I could opt for BellSouth/AT&T, I would - but they don't service HWY 210 area.

If you don't have a lot of minutes on your cell plan, or get a crappy signal inside your home (I had to lean over sink or go out in driveway with my Nextel) I wouldn't go with TWC.

We have had Time Warner's Roadrunner for years with very few problems and the speed is great. Love it.

Roadrunner here too. Very rarely have an a problem, and usually resetting the modem fixes it.

I'm sure all your other points were valid, but this one puzzles me...

You are complaining because, when your special introductory deal ended, your bill went up? What did you think "special introductory" meant?

We've had Bellsouth for 2 years, and no problems. It wasn't that great when they were switching everything over to AT&T, but now that the switch is done, it's been wonderful! And the speed is great too. I've heard too many complaints about TWC to use them!

We have TWC for phone and cable. Never had one problem (knock on wood). I use a Verizon Wireless Card for my lap top. I am currently satisfied with all my provider's.

    No.

Sorry, my last post was getting novel sized - can you imagine . . .

When TWC first came around and convinced me to sign up they didn't have digital phone in our area yet. . .it was supposed to take about 90 days. . they said that our package would be less than the 176.00 we were then paying for phone/internet/tv even AFTER the intro period was over.

Well, it took 6 months, not 3 to get digital phone and THEN TWC installers CUT my old phonel line ---no lie Sure I wan't going to be needing that land line, but to switch back would require a repair. . .but that's not my gripe. . . just a grunt about it - as there was no need to do so. . .

The intro price was gone right after we got our digital phone - they gave me grief with porting our number too - which is just plain silly - and we pay
20.80 MORE each month than we did prior to having TWC.
