SMITHFIELD-- Clint Eaves, Assistant Principal at Clayton High School,
has been named Johnston County Schools Assistant Principal of the Year.
The honor was bestowed during the monthly Principals' meeting on
Tuesday, May 15, as his parents-- Larry and Grey Eaves-- and his wife,

Dana, made a surprise appearance to congratulate him.
Eaves, a Clayton High alumnus, has worked for the Johnston County
Schools since 1998, when he started his instructional career at his alma
mater as a math teacher. His father Larry still teaches math at the
school. Clint has also served as an Assistant Principal at
    Corinth-Holders School.

Jerry Smith, his principal, has nothing but praise for "one of the best
young folks around. He's very mature, very organized, and has a lot of
common sense, which is good for this career. He has a good rapport with
    everyone."
