http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/ups.asp Hello! Unfortunately we were not able to deliver postal package which was sent on the 6th of December in time because the recipient’s address is erroneous. Please print out the invoice copy attached and collect the package at our office. United Parcel Service of America. I got one of these emails today and there was a zip file attachment that they wanted you to open to get the details of the delivery. I'm glad I decided to check first. For one thing I wasn't missing a package and it didn't look very official, so I questioned its validity to begin with. Just thought I'd pass the info along!
I've gotten the same from "DHL" as well as "UPS", and just deleted it. IIRC, the sender's name usually has the word "Manager" in it. No sense opening e-mails, or attachments, that look even remotely suspicious. Now, if one of those Nigerians would just send me the check...
I have earthlink as my primary email address. and it has caught and stopped about a half dozen of them in the past 6 months or so.
