http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/3024121/ Can anyone tell me why an autopsy is public record and not part of a person's private medical records which are protected by the HIPPA law?
Because it is a matter of public record, performed by a public representative. And because they are deceased. Did you know your Will is also a matter of public record?
I'm not worried about my will, but I would think that my autopsy would be part of my medical records, which are private.
