http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/10/18/football.threats/index.html It still makes you think. It could happen.
Lots of things could happen. I'm curious as to why this is being released, though. What purpose does it serve to let the average Joe American know that there is a non-credible threat made against NFL stadiums?
Everyday should be considered a threat in this day and age. A football fan's dream ..... die pulling for your team ?!?
Well look, you have school shooting almost every day, planes flying into buildings and now threats of blowing up football stadiums....So, what do you do...prepare for the worse. Not anxiety.... being careful and being more aware of your surrounding and the people around you.
Well, I hope it doesn't happen, but I know I'm not going to any of the games. Glad Charlotte was not on there. I'll be watching the games this weekend. Love some football.
Maybe that's the reason! Football spectatorship is down so they release this in hopes that your average Joe American will tune into the games hoping to see someone "blowed up real good". I don't know, you think I'm getting a bit jaded in my old age? :?
I usually watch football, so it makes no difference to me. But, that would give a few of these weird people in the world that like drama something to watch over the weekend. I don't really think its going to affect the games. The players might be a little scared.
Somebody's idea of a joke, apparently. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2631676&campaign=rss&source=ESPNHeadlines
I might actually agree with you, if the DHS had done something to say, "Look, we stopped terrorists." But to come out and say it wasn't credible doesn't benefit either party.
Clif, I agree in that this wasn't perpetrated by either of the two main parties (I believe it was an idiot from Wisconsin), however the reason could still be the 7th. Read on Drudge that the Republican party will release their official "Fear" commercials next week.
The reason for the threat hoax itself is not what I'm talking about. I'm wondering why it was released to the media and why the media ran with it knowing from the get-go that the whole thing wasn't credible.
Looks like they did have the "We stopped them" sound bites, that later came back and bit them. Windows Media Player - http://movies.crooksandliars.com/Countdown-SC-GOP-Fear1.wmv Quick Time - http://movies.crooksandliars.com/Countdown-SC-GOP-Fear1.mov
Well, there's ten and a half minutes I'll never get back. I'm not sure exactly what you were referring to. The only "we stopped them" statements were made by two media analysts, neither of whom represent the republicans nor this administration
Clif, I am sure you loved it Fair enough, however folks like these and Rush are very much part of the Republican Machine, even if not officially.
