Smithfield, NC – The Johnston County Landfill located at 680 County Home Road in Smithfield has extended the date that Hurricane Irene related vegetative debris will be accepted at no charge from residential customers from September 10, 2011 to 4:45pm on Wednesday, September 14, 2011. Landfill hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am through 4:45pm and Saturday from 8:00am through 3:30pm. Please contact the Solid Waste Division at 919-938-4750 for more information.
