We use Dr. Darren Hilburn at Garner Family Eye Care-he is wonderful! Some of my family has also seen Dr. Eggleston (Walmart in Clayton) and Dr. Dean Strickland (In the Clayton Crossings shopping center). Both were very good as well.
Johnson Optometrics! They are great and just super doctors! They will not try to just sale you glasses unless you NEED them. I like Garner Family Eye care. We have been going for years and all my kids go there as well. (not sure if that is local enough for you.)
Dr. Eggleston at the Walmart Center is excellent! Can't say enough good things about him. We have some children w/ some odd eye disorders so knowing he knows his stuff says alot. He is the one that actually first caught my son's RP(retinitis pigmentosa--going blind). So I have major confidence in him. Good luck. stephanie--mom to 7
Got to second the vote for Dr E at WalMart... I have a pretty complicated prescription...it ended up being a real thorough eye exam, and a pretty reasonable price.
I'm going to Doctors Vision there at Lowes food in clayton next week, I will let you know how I like them,
