News reports that Jerry Falwell was found unconscious in his office, taken to hospital. Doctors report his condition is gravely serious.

I don't wish ill for him, but the one time I watched one of his sermons on TV(we lived in Lynchburg at the time, which is ALL about Mr. Falwell  ), it seemed it was all about the money, kinda turned me off. But again, hope he is OK for his follower's sake.

I don't wish ill-will either, I just don't care for him. I just got an update from CNN, and it says they are giving (or had to give) CPR....that doesn't sound too good.....

Thoughts and prayers for his family and the members of his church. And Kaci is right, he has done a lot of good. Might not agree with everything, but a lot of good.

LYNCHBURG, Virginia (AP) -- The Rev. Jerry Falwell has died, a Liberty University executive said Tuesday. He was 73.
Earlier, the executive said Falwell was hospitalized in "gravely serious" condition after being found unconscious in his office.
Ron Godwin, the executive vice president of Falwell's Liberty University, said Falwell was found unresponsive around 10:45 a.m. and taken to Lynchburg General Hospital. Godwin said he was not sure what caused the collapse, but "he has a history of heart challenges."
"I had breakfast with him, and he was fine at breakfast," Godwin said. "He went to his office, I went to mine and they found him unresponsive."
Falwell, a television evangelist who founded the Moral Majority, became the face of the religious right in the 1980s. He later founded the conservative Liberty University and serves as its president.
Falwell survived two serious health scares in early 2005. He was hospitalized for two weeks with what was described as a viral infection, then hospitalized again a few weeks later after going into respiratory arrest.

Oh give it a break Ken, you know that is not for real. Look, i didn't agree with a lot the man said when it came to politics and some of his views but a person has passed away, a little compassion for his family and all the thousands he helped with his unwed mothers programs and alcoholic recovery centers, just to name a few is warranted.

If you feel the right to judge him as he did judge people, then you are on the same level as he is. God is the only one that Jerry has to face now and God's opinion is the only one that counts.

Look Ken, i am not arguing his beliefs, as someone who grew up there, had a child in his school and college, and knew him personally i totally disagreed with much of his beliefs and forcing them on his students is the main reason my son transferred down here. i am just saying that at a time of loss, it is pretty petty to focus and condemn. Like is said before, that is God's job, not ours.

I couldn't agree more. JF was a hate monger from the start. He built his following by making people fear others. He preached hate under the guise of christianity. I'm not sorry he is gone.

Ok reread what you wrote. Like i have stated i am totally against hating anyone and totally against a lot of what he preached but i am totally amazed that people on here condemn him for hating and they are doing the exact same thing.

Judge ye not, lest ye be judged.

Yes, hate is hate. But this is not the time to make light of his shortcomings and beliefs. A man has died. He has left behind a family and loved ones who cared for him deeply, regardless of anyones views. And besides, not eveyone will ever agree on it.

Now, if anyone out there can do a better job than anyone that is in the media like him, step up to the plate and DO something. Be a part of a solution instead of the problem. It's easy for all of us to say how it "should be" and how "awful" someone is here in little old 4042 land.

Why is it people always want to look at the negative in someone. Even if they were negative to a point, there is ALWAYS a positive side and that is all that should be remembered. Isn't that the way WE would want it for ourselves???? I think so..........
