I have a question concerning FASFA and EFC. How exactly is the RFC used at the end of the day? Lets say the governement says your EFC is $5K. But then the school is allowed to take the EFC and put it in some "formula" and now what you are expected to contribute to your education is a very different "higher" number. I may be a little off so I am asking is this how it works?
