Yes, I know it's a little late....but.... I am trying to think of the perfect gift for DH for Father's Day, and I just can't think of anything. The kids and I are going shopping tonight and maybe tomorrow. Any ideas? I thought about getting one of those handprint kits and letting each girl make a hand print and making it into a stepping stone for him. He's a big UNC & Tony Stewart Fan, so I thought about dressing the kids in UNC Jerseys ( I have two that fit) and taking a pic for him, or taking them to the picture people and having them do it. Help!
I like the picture idea better. Me and lilharley were in the same boat, our dad already has EVERYTHING! :? Spending quality time with family is more important than the gift (unlesss it's my B-Day)
Maybe I should have mentioned that this will be the gift from the CHILDREN. I'll give him a special present later.......
I was thinking of getting my Stepdad a gift certificate for a hooker, since Mom has died I figure things have gotten a little pent up!
Ok first of all... my hubby ain't MY daddy. And any gift he gets will be from the kids. My father will receive a gift from me. Please don't tell my hubby I just said that...:lol::lol:
I love the idea with the handprints. We love the handprint pictures we made when they were little. I am sure your DH would as well. I also have a handprint t-shirt that I love. I think Food Lion has the t-shirt kits w/ the paint at the 40/42 store. Look near teh customer service area, I think. We are doing the practical thing, of course. DH is getting handmade pictures, socks, undies, shorts (all very needed!) and homemade cards from the girls. For mom's day, I got the adirondak chairs we had been wanting. We basically just wait until another Hallmark Holiday (as Ken said) and use it as an excuse to get the items we need or want. We got my dad a nice pocket knife, which he needs and handmade cards from the kids. We are all having brunch together and eating some of my dad's favorite foods - bagels, cream cheese, lox, egg casserole, fruit salad and fresh squash from the garden. I am sure you agree, the time we can spend together just enjoying each other's company, is the best gift of all.
Love your dads while you still have 'em folks...Father's Day is a whole lot different for me now. I do try and give Squire things from our 4-legged kids, but its hard to get excited over a day that is missing the star. Happy Father's Day to all you dads!
I thought it was... 1) Beer 2) Booty (pirates treasure) 3) and the third isnt PG13 so I cant say it. I already woke up early and get my present..... A remote control helicopter. Gonna try to weasel in a late lunch @ La Cocina and get the beer part outta the way. Muay Grande Dos Equis por favor!!!
I find this to be a sad day for me personally, although I technically have a dad, (birth and adoptive), it just reminds me that I have no relationship with either one. I'm on speaking terms (barely) with the adoptive one, but I've seen him 3 times in 18 years. Pretty sad............................... On a happier note, my husband is a fantastic Dad, I am so happy for that!
