Anyone got a spare kerosene heater I could borrow for about a few days? Our central heat is acting stupid and our landlady, who I am trying to reach, is going to have to have someone come and look at it but I don't know how soon. I wish I could have someone from here who knows about that stuff look at it but the landlady has "her pick" she uses all the time.......We have one kerosene heater already and it does good, but my husband thought about having one at each end of the house and leave all the doors to the rooms open to keep it nice and toasty since the temperature will be so low. We plan to sleep in the livingroom too so we can keep and eye on the heaters as well. I also plan to leave the water drip in the bathrooms so the pipes don't freeze. If you do have one you can spare, I'd appreciate it and I'll get it back as soon as the heat is fixed!!!

    Thanks in advance!! :grouphug:

Well I should have said cabinets that have pipes in them. ie - sinks located on an exterior wall. If it is cold enough sometimes the cabinets insulate them from the heat causing them to freeze. It may not be necessary but It wouldn't hurt.

Another thing you can do is turn your oven on around 300 degrees for the next two nights. It's not going to hurt anything but will warm your house. If you have something you want to roast you might fix it and kill two birds, say like a Chicken or Turkey, add some veggies and you have a good meal for the next day. GOOD LUCK ANNE
