I don't go for the exceedingly gory stuff, preferrably liking more suspenseful. However, that said, I like adapted Stephen King novel movies for the most part. Of course, some of them are rather "out there" and/or boring. As far as his movies, I like the Silver Bullet and how its told from Janie's perspective later in life. Nice angle. Actually, I like the movie better than the book that it was based on, "Cycle of the Werewolf." Another horror series that I like is Jeepers Creepers.
I can't watch horror movies. I wish I could! I get nightmares for days. When I was a kid, I had nightmares for weeks after just looking at the pictures on the back of a VHS movies at the video store. The images wouldn't leave my head. As an adult, I tried to watch "The Ring." I couldn't get that movie out of my head either. It was torture going to bed everynight! I kept "seeing" that girl with the hair in her face. Even now, if my husband watches a horror movie and I can hear the sounds (like in Saw) from another room, I have nightmares.
Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? Isn’t it funny, those two women HATED each other. In the film that put them together, they both gave what I thought was their best performance.
What lies beneath Signs and The Sixth Sense Haunted (Aidan Quinn, Kate Beckinsale) The Uninvited (Ray Milland & Gail Russell) The Innocents Frankenstein, The True Story (when he pulled off Jane Seymour’s head - yikes!)
Just finished The Exorcist with my 16=year old son. Still creeps me out, but didn't bother him at all. It doesn't help that I first saw it as a young kid at my grandma's house and my crazy aunt told me that "she" would be waiting for me in my bed at night. Still freak out if I wake up and feel cold. I think the bed is about to start shakin'!! Also, dh and I saw a movie years ago about toys that came to life and killed people. Can't remember the name, but it scared me pretty good for a while after. Wish I could remember the name.
