    It is high school drama.

Something about an underground newspaper and a kid getting expelled or suspended or something.

    Per my son......
Deven wrote apparently 2 issues of an uderground newsletter expressing his opinions and feelings about some of the changes and rules at West this year.(I read the 1st issue never saw the 2nd one) Some kids took what he was saying as a means to "protest". Deven came foward last Friday on his own and apologized (during announcements to the entire student body) stating that it was not intended for that purpose and he wanted to set things straight. The principal thanked him for coming forward and stated he was ready to accept his punishment which apparently was suspension.

Are you talking about Devin Miller who plays in the band? If so... I can't imagine that kid EVER getting into any kind of trouble! EVER!!!!!

Don't know if Devin plays in the band but know who is because my son played baseball with him a few years back. I had the same thoughts as you. Probably never caused trouble before and gets a black mark his last year of school for speaking his mind and then coming forward when it was misconstrued (sp?).

I thought it was more the Hilter-esque picture of Brookie Honeycutt that sent a lot of folks over the edge? I did not read the story myself, but from what I understand Brookie is taking the flack for all the changes at WEst. These changes came from the school board and as far as I am concerned certain things like the dress code isn't enforced enough. . The hoods still run around with their pants baggy and underwear showing. I still see bare mid-drifts and too short skirts. But all in all I don't miss Doctor Harris AT ALL!
THe apology that was read over the PA was deemed to have been written for him as none of the students felt as though those were his own words. Why wasn't the newpaper advisor teacher suspended too? I heard is was the regular paper.
Number one - somebody tell BRookie to ditch the "IE" and sound like an adult not a six year old. Brook Honeycutt sounds a lot more professional.
I have also heard that she pays no attention whatsoever at the football games.
What I do like about her is she doesn't play favorites like DR. Harris always did. So maybe thats why some students have thier shorts in a knot.

It wasn't done through the regular school paper. My understanding is they were printed and left in the bathrooms for the students to pick up. I read the last one and it really wasn't negative about Ms Honeycutt. It was more about how they as students could effect positive changes for the school.
