The Fire Tax Committee of the Johnston County Board of Commissioners will be meeting on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in the Emergency Operations Center at the Johnston County Courthouse (Law Enforcement Center) located at 120 S. Third Street, Smithfield. The purpose of the meeting is to review fire district tax increase requests from several fire departments. Please note this is a committee meeting and does not constitute a quorum of the Johnston County Board of Commissioners; therefore, no action by the Board of Commissioners will be taken. The purpose of the Fire Tax Committee is to review fire district tax increase requests and make recommendations to the full Board of County Commissioners for consideration during the FY 2013-2014 budget adoption.
