Fist Date Recommendations?

H6 brought to memory a conversation I had the other night.

Where's a good place to have a first date? What time of the day is more non-threatening? My friend's about 4 months out of a 4 yr relationship and is ready to start over. Recently, someone caught her eye and she doesn't know what to do to (a) get noticed and (b) somehow manage to get a date.

As to the question, i would think lunch or after work drinks would be the most non-threatening or even a get together with several friends.

My first reply would be to possibly have a drink or two after work at a well known establishment (McKinley's, CDH, Clubhouse type of place). Secondly make sure that someone you know and trust would be willing to perhaps be having dinner/drinks around the same time to make sure that everything goes ok.

These two have known each other for over a year. They've been buds and hung out and all and have become very good friends. An actual "date" will make it all different, she thinks, and she's nervous. However, she wants to be noticed as more than just a buddy and wants to try out the dating thing.

Ahhhh First dates. Never go out to eat just anywhere. Do something spontaneous like driving to the beach. Having Dinner on the sand.

They can't seem to get their schedules together to have more than, at most, 3 hours to do anything. It'll probably only be 1 1/2 hrs that they can just stop running and eat. Their work schedules are different so it looks like, unless someone takes off during the day, dinner is the meal. Of course, they could try the weekend, but I don't think either one of them want to do that.
