So for the 4th of July my company mailed out 'freedom boxes' to all the soldiers who's names employee's submitted. They totaled 25 for our entire company...

Now, they want to send out 'holiday boxes' for christmas to be mailed out on November 15th. They want to shatter the measly 25 box record (if you can call 1 shipment a record) and get each division to send at least 25 boxes (so, more like 150)! I however, as coordinator for the durham and raleigh branches in this project, ordered 25 boxes for us alone! One branch got REALLY enthusuastic and ordered 75!

So, we are all encouraged to get as many names as possible and EVERY SOLDIER'S NAME we get will receive a box!

So if you have a soldier you would like to get one of these boxes, please send me an email with their name and correct address where they will be in december.

We have a $50 company budget for each box, which we'd like to spend on things they need (we have a list of requested and approved items)like (full list at operationtroopbox.com):

Candy (twizzlers, gum, ect that can't melt)
    Oral Hygeine Items
    Powdered, individual drink mixes
    baby wipes (are EXPENSIVE there)
    hand sanitizer
healthy single serving non perishable meals (breakfast and drinks are most needed)
    Toiletries

Plus some employees and the community will donate some new or gently used items 'extras' like:

    Letters to the soldiers
Beanie Babies (to hand out to iraq children)
    CD's & portable CD players
Paperback books (I don't know why paperback but it was specific)
Travel size board games (checkers, yahtzee, scrabble, ect)
Old gameboys and games or other electronic games using AA batteries (I don't know why AA, but again, specifics)
Disposable cameras (have some left over from a wedding or other event?)
    Comic books
    Crossword puzzle books

Thanks for reading and if you'd like to have a box sent, shoot me an email with address of your soldier. That's all you have to do!
