I know this is a long shot; its home might even be out of state, but here goes: A Magpie Pigeon found me and the Beagle this morning when I took the dog for a walk. It literally followed us up to the porch after wandering aimlessly around the neighborhood and up and down the street. It is banded with red and blue bands, health status is that it was starving but the wings are in good shape and it could walk easily. I was a sweat animal, I feed it and took it to the Johnston County Animal Shelter in Smithfield.
Can't it be traced by the bands? (Did they have numbers emprinted?) Hopefully, the JC Shelter knows how to track the owner. I think that Dr. Smith at Clayton Animal Hospital used to do bird vet care. Perhaps he knows how to track from leg bands.
