Anyone lost a Cockatiel? We found a cute little parakeet in our road this morning. Looks like it wants to go home!
awww poor little guy, this time of the year as it gets warmer I hear about his stuff more and more. I'm a bird owner, or I should say I'm owned by parrots. Let me know if you need help with him. I have a few extra cages in my shed, that you could borrow. oh and what color is the spot above the beak? That will accually tell you the sex of the bird. Sheri

Well it's not a parakeet then that won't work, depends on the color of the teil if I can tell if it's a male or female. I have a white face Teil here and I know it's a male cause I know the parents and the color traits, but someone else wouldn't know just by looking at him. What are you doing for him right now?
we brought him inside in one of our cat carriers. He ate some of the bird food we gave him and now he is asleep. He looked scared, I'm sure he was out in the weather last night. Seems pretty weak, but again, none of the vets and bird rescue agencies will help us. We were very surprised. Thanks for your concern!
Your welcome, that is how I got started in birds, is in a rescue when I lived up in Mi for 3 years, I would love to help. If you have a heating pad on a low setting, put it under a towel and that will help as well. Just make sure he isn't sitting on it. Even a heat lamp would help. If he was out in that weather, he needs some heat. Sheri
