I thought I would put this here just in case someone is missing their dog, off of Barber Mill Rd. She is a med size black dog...looks like she might have some lab in here. We had to call animal control yesterday because we were not sure what the situation was....took my dogs out to their pen and the like to go under the shed because it is cool there, but almost got bit by this dog, as did my husband. Animal Control could not get the dog to come out, so they set up a dog trap for it. Well, the dog did get into the trap today and when they came back out, it looked like she was either going to have pups or already had them. Turns out that she got into my pen, (think DD left the gate open) and went under my shed and had puppies. She had 10 puppies. When animal control came out to get her, they told me that we would have to get someone to get them out or they would have to leave the momma dog there until the puppies were big enough to come out on their own. We decided to get the puppies out since the momma dog was pretty aggressive (understand why). DH cut a hole in the shed floor (1st officer left and told us to call him when we got the puppies out), and we thought that there were only a few puppies and that they were older than what they were. My husband was handing them to me (umbilicord still on the, but getting dry), we got to about 5/4 and I asked him how many more.....got to 7 and I asked again, finially we got to 10 and he told me that was all. 2nd officer came and got the puppies. So.....if you are missing you dog, Animal Control has picked her up and she has delivered her puppies, all looked healthy and all alive and Animal Control has them also. We would of posted this yesterday, but we were not really sure what was under the shed or if it was rabid or not. I was not able to get a picture of the momma, but did get pics of the pups (which I can post later on).
