The free See Spot Read program will introduce a new therapy dog at Cleveland Library on Saturday Feb. 18 10-11 a.m. The guest cock-a-poo-poo lives in Fuquay-Varina and normally works in the Wake Libraries. Children are invited to bring their favorite story to read to our new volunteer team.

On February 25 10-11 a.m., Brella, the Dandie Dinmont Terrier, will be here for her one hour in the spotlight and her belly rubs. She ususally works in Wake County libraries and Garner High School. Her application is being reviewed for a nursing home in Fuquay-Varina and Rex Hospital oncology center. Sandra, the other part of the team, is a National Board Certified AP English Teacher working for Wake County Schools.

This reading program is designed to take the stress off the children while they read and improve their reading skills. Dogs love and don't criticize. The adult team member is trained to provide the interaction between your child and the dog. Most of the dogs in the program have seven months training - obedience and socialization, therapy dog training, and See Spot Read training.
