As an ongoing effort to help the citizens of Johnston County from Identity Theft, Craig Olive and the Johnston County Register of Deeds office, is organizing a free “Public Shred” Event. The public is encouraged to bring old files, receipts, credit card offers, bank statements, returned checks and any other sensitive information that they want to discard. The event will be held on July 20, 2013, from 10am-1pm, in the Edwards IGA parking lot, 721 N Brightleaf Blvd., Smithfield, NC. Along with Craig Olive and the Johnston County Register of Deeds office, other sponsors include: WMPM and WTSB radio stations, Hinson’s Printing, and Ruth Anderson and Karen Snyder of Legal Shield.
