The event will be held at Lowes Foods in Clayton on November 1st. Your child will need to arrive by 4pm and be pre-registerd to participate. This is a fun and valuable learning experience for every child that participates. General Mills donates mounds of product and the children get to shop, scan, and take the groceries to the food bank vehicle. The children are rewarded with refreshments and goody bags as well. The ideal age group for participation is 2nd-6th grade. This is free and absolutely no cost to the parents. Please register your child to participate in this event by calling 919-550-6740. Ask for Samantha. I will be available on 10/25 until 4pm and available on 10/26 and 10/27 after 4pm. Space is limited to 30 kids. The media may cover this event--so your kids may get to see themselves on the news!! Thanks, Samantha Stevens
So are the kids shopping and scanning the donated food from General Mills or are the parents paying for food the kids pick out? Sorry, just trying to understand. This sounds like a great event! Thanks!
It does sound like a cool event, but I don't get off work till 5, so we won't be able to participate.
It doesnt cost the parents anything. (but from what I understand you can bring food from home too if you want.) I would love to participate, but we dont get out of carpool until 3:40, not sure if we can get there by 4. (bus doesnt even come until 4:15)
The event is free...no cost to the parents. The product that is scanned is donated by General Mills. If you can make it by 4pm...no problem. Just call the store to register your child. I can be reached Thursday and Friday after 5pm at the store. 919-550-6740 Thanks, Samantha
