yes, the Ashley store is open on 70. DH and I went in there one day, some nice stuff, but one of the sales people was really pushy. Think her name was Joy or something like that. It was like we got maybe 100 ft into the store and she was there. Kept telling her we were just looking but every time we turned around she was there and really trying to push things onto us. Then she happened to tell us that is we came back in to ask for her because she gets paid on commission and really needed the sales. By the time we left, was a bit agitated. She was about the only one that we saw that was real pushy. Other than that, like I said, there was some nice stuff in there.
After a year of searching (from Craig's List to all stores in this area of Clayton, Smithfield, etc) I finally found a store I liked that had the quality of furniture for my daughter's bedroom set. Carolina Kids & Teens (919) 781-8020 8401 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612 Now, if you go to their website (google them) there will be some bad reviews. I am Mingo1's review. I loved this store. The only downside is the that I was looking for kids furniture, and there was too much to select from . I went there with my 2 kids at first, and then came home and sent them to Grandma's and went back with my husband so we could make a selection of some good, solid furniture. Happy Shopping!
THanks everyone! Saved us a trip to N. Raleigh knowing Ashley just opened nearby in Clayton. Thanks for all of the help!
let us know your experience! My wife and I are looking into some new living room furniture. Our suede couches are getting "boring"...need to liven up the house some!
Just wanted to report back in... Our experience was very positive at Ashley in Clayton. Went Monday and got everything we needed for a good price(in our opinion). They were having a special promotion(grand opening I guess) and we even got a free vacation for buying over $1200 worth of furniture. (choice of cruises, Vegas or Cancun). With Vegas your airfare was included....Cancun you had to pay for airfare. And the cruises are out of Florida so you can drive there(no air included).
I'm not sure what you were looking for, did you happen to notice any kids bunkbeds in there? That's what we're looking for...might look this weekend.
We were looking for LR sets but our daughter noticed the bunkbeds right away..LOL. So they were there. Good Luck!
Fred's Beds has nice solid bunkbeds too. I bought my son a complete set 9 years ago, solid pine I think. With delivery and s/u I think they were under 400.00. I sold them here on 4042 several years ago, and I think I could have charged more. They still looked new.
We checked out Rooms to go kids tonight. They had a good variety, definitely depends on what you're looking for, and how long you want to keep them. I do want something that can be taken apart, to be used separately if need be (I'm still not convinced my oldest one will sleep on top) and some don't do that. Also some seem to be made very cheap, not sturdy at all. But they did have some nice ones. I have one other place I want to check out. Rooms to go prices were from $599-999, and that was twin/full prices, the twin/twin were cheaper obviously.
Been looking at some ads on craiglist for a "furniture warehouse" on Atlantic Ave. in Raleigh. Looks like they have some good stuff for great prices. Has anyone shopped there? To see their stuff go to http://raleigh.craigslist.org click - for sale search - atlantic
Check out Flexa, then. It grows with your kids. http://www.flexa.dk/Default.aspx?AreaId=46 Flexa is available locally at some stores, including RTG.
HAAAA.... I work there. Well actualy at the warehouse on Miami blvd. The same people own the Carolina kids, Carolina Sofa, dinette,Kinkaid,And Bassett Stores all along rt 70. Then they will deliver your stuff and a person from Expert Deliveries will call you. Yea it's the same place. I Build your crappy Bassett stuff for you , Then I put it on a truck for delivery. Same company just using a Differant name for Tax reasons. You can Actualy go to the warehouse on S. Miami blvd and buy the same stuff there but cheaper. and no one will bother you there. the stuff is realy packed in so getting around ain't that easy, and it's hot in there. But you can shop till you drop. I personaly like Kincade Furniture. It is the only one left that is still made in the good old USA.
Try Carolina sofa , Bassett, Kids ,Lexa, Furniture warehouse on s. Miami blvd. Just off rt 40 . 3829 S. Miami blvd, Durham Nc. 27703 Phone 919-485-4200 I work there. or say will be working there untill the end of the month.
Anyone bought from Haverty's? We found a sofa we like. Wondering how people have found the quality and long-term customer service.
FYI: Went into Badcock yesterday looking for bunk beds, they didn't have a good selection, only 2 on the floor. Good news: they weren't pushy, and the man showed me in the catalog what they had, then I walked out the door. Was in and out in less than 5 minutes. I didn't even look at prices. The other furniture they had in there did look nice though.
